Louise Ellis Given

February 24, 1940 - July 16, 2021 Louise (Ellis) Given passed away at home in San Jose, California after a long fight with congestive heart failure, COPD and renal failure. Louise was born to Max and Sylvia Ellis on February 24, 1940 in Boston, Massachusetts. She attended Syracuse University in New York and majored in Fashion Design. She was a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority and the Alpha Xi Alpha design honorary. While at Syracuse she met the love of her life, Leonard Given, a member of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity. After Leonard and Louise were pinned, she was named Queen of ZBT. She graduated Cum Laude from Syracuse in June of 1961. Leonard and Louise were married on June 10, 1961 in Boston, Massachusetts at the Blue Hills Country Club. They spent several years in El Paso, Texas while Leonard served in the Air force. Eventually, settling down in San Jose, California. She loved children as evidenced by her large family and was a talented artist. She produced many oil and water color paintings that have been both sold and given to her family. Louise is survived by her husband of 60 years, Leonard Given, her brother, Alfred Ellis (Sharon), and her four children Jacqueline Waugh, Andrea Mori (Bill), Stephanie Malatesta (Roy) and Curtis Given (Anna). She was Nana to 11 grandchildren: Haley and Jamison Waugh, Heather, Ashley & Alyssa Mori, Amanda, Morgan, Allie & Luke Malatesta, Brenden & Ryan Given, and great grandmother to Haven Perez-Mori. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2021 at Los Gatos Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
