David L. Cohen

David Lawrence Cohen, born September 15, 1944, was the beloved husband of Gloria Marla Cohen for 52 years. He peacefully passed away after a brief illness, Sunday, August 31,2026, at the age of 81. Born in "The Heights" (Washington Heights, New York City) to Martin and Roslyn Cohen, David lived a life defined by deep devotion to family, community and Jewish tradition.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria and sister, Elaine. He was the loving Uncle to his nephew, Benjamin and nieces: Barbara, Debbie and Ellen; as well as Great-Uncle to Bobby, Marty, Breanna, Nick, Kaitlyn, Abby and Luke; and the Great-Great-Uncle to one adorable little niece, Ivy. He was predeceased in death by his only child, Jeremy Cohen.

David graduated from San Jose State in 1967, with a B.S. degree in Meteorology. He went on to work at the National Weather Service, and retired from the Federal Government after a 38 year career as a Meteorologist. Beyond his professional life, Dave enjoyed many recreational activities, spending time fishing, golfing, DIY projects and anguishing over the dismal state of the SF Giants. He was an avid photographer and created spectacular albums from all his travels. Additionally, David was a dedicated volunteer for the Coast Guard Auxiliary and for various political campaigns/causes that he supported.

Services were held September 3, 2026, at Skylawn Memorial Park, Half Moon Bay, CA, where David is interred next to his son, Jeremy.
