Leonard Nordson

Leonard Nordson, August 6, 1952 - May 9, 2026 Leonard Nordson was born on August 6, 1952 in San Francisco to Edward and Laura Nordson, joining his elder brothers Mark and David. The Nordson family lived in the Crocker Amazon neighborhood of San Francisco where Leonard attended Guadalupe Elementary School then Luther Burbank Middle School and graduated from Balboa High School in the class of 1970. Leonard graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelors of Liberal Arts degree and worked in the field of consumer electronics as a sales representative for over 40 years. Leonard had a very strong passion for music, especially Rock n' Roll and was an avid collector of vinyl records in which he enjoyed listening to. He attended concerts of the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who and countless other bands he adored from the late 1960s through the 2020s. Leonard was an astute study of music history, the lives of band members and was the go to person in many groups for Rock'n Roll and music trivia and lore. Leonard enjoyed art, film, comedy and history as well as a passion for koi fish, spending time in his backyard enjoying his beautiful koi pond. Leonard was a proud father and grandfather and a loving husband for over 40 years. He was kind, loving, funny, genuine, empathetic and enjoyed being with his family. He cared so deeply for his grandchildren. Leonard was preceded in death by brother David Nordson, brother Mark Nordson, father Edward Morris Nordson and mother Laura Nordson; San Francisco. He will be remembered by his two sons Daniel Aaron Nordson and wife Marie-Claire, Pacifica, CA and Benjamin Elliot Nordson and wife Gabriella, Lincoln, CA; their mother and his former wife Sylvie Nounou; and his six grandchildren Levi, Zack, Marcel, Nina, Céline and Ella; first cousin Paul Nordson and wife Monette, Hillsborough, CA. A service will be held at 11am on May 15 at Home of Peace Cemetery and an inurnment at Salem Memorial Park both in Colma. Memorial contributions can be made to the Aphasia Center of California.
